Waiakea Water – Reducing Their Carbon Footprint

Published / by TheHI

There are many companies that sell water packaged in bottles these days and it can be hard to decide which one to purchase. $100 billion is the worth of bottled water worldwide with Italians taking the lead at the moment.

Although it may seem funny to buy bottled water when it is so abundant in most households but bottled water is much more than just plain water. Most bottled water also contains enhancements such as nutrients and vitamins.

Waiakea water was established in 2012 and is based out of Hawaii and so you know it’s good. Waiakea water comes form the Hawaiian words, “Waiakea” which means “broad waters.” But Waialkea’s water is not just all about the labeling and good vibes. Every bottle of Waiakea water goes through a rigorous filtration process.

Waiakea water has thought of it all and they have even come up with the very first fully degradable plastic bottle. They are even a certified Carbon Neutral business because the vehicles that they use to transport their products are low-emission vehicles. Their bottles will also be made with plastic that is 100 percent recyclable.

“Normal” plastic bottles take well over 1,000 years for just one plastic bottle to break down and degrade into the environment. Waiakea bottles will only take about 15 years to break down which drastically reduces their carbon footprint on the environment.

Waiakea water is very rich in electrolytes such as potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium. It is also rich in 30mg of silica which makes every sip go down nice and smooth. The pH is between 7.8 and 8.8 which is a natural alkalinity. Studies have even proven that ingesting just 10mg of silica every day can actually reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s by 11 percent.

Waiakea water is so much more than great taste. Waiakea produces water that not only tastes great and is beneficial to the body but their water is also bottled in a facility that is using 33 percent of renewable energy and their plastic bottles are also BPA-free. This is a company that really cares about the environment.
