Securus Technologies is a for-profit prison technology company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The company serves over 2,600 public safety law enforcement and corrections agencies serving more than one million inmates all over North America. The organization provides a vast array of offers such as bio-metric analysis, inmate-self-service, communication, emergency response, investigation, public information among others. Securus organization was founded in 1986 with offices in Atlanta, Carrollton, Allen, and Georgia. A system to control contraband cell phones was introduced by the company and by 2016 it had secured approval in over five departments of corrections facilities.
